Our kaolin clay adds a silky feel to soaps, and can also be used as a base for eyeshadows often with magnesium stearate and/or arrowroot powder. It is often used to anchor scents in soaps, making the fragrance last longer.
Nurture Soap has the highest quality clay. Their clay is so fresh and works so good in my soaps. I only order my clays from Nurture Soap.
I use kaolin clay in my soap formulations and it is fantastic to anchor the fragrance and improve the color. It gives creaminess to other of its clay qualities.
I used this Kaolin clay in my CP soaps to anchor the scents. It is a great addition to my soaps for your skin. I love how it is packaged also.
PLEASE DON’T USE IN BATH BOMBS!
I purchased the kaolin white clay exclusively for cold process soap to help anchor the scent of the essential oils. Upon reading reviews I find it worrisome that some of the people leaving reviews are actually putting this into their bath bombs. PLEASE for your own safety and the safety of your customers (if you sell your bath bombs don’t do it!) Read the color specification and SDS documents and remember anything that is not safe for lips and other mucus membranes is also not good for down ⬇️ there where you are soaking in a bathtub.
Teresa, those regulations only apply to color additives. If using kaolin clay as a functional ingredient other than adding color, people can use it for whatever they want. The FDA does not classify kaolin as a color additive at all and it's safety for this use has not been assessed. However, many people use it in face masks, bath bombs, soap etc. for other purposes than coloring and do so with great success.
I use this in all my soaps and love it! So happy NS has it for a great value. I will be purchasing again.
