After saponification, this color turns into a beautiful chartreuse-like green with decadent gold tones! As with most green micas, this color may turn a darker brown or murky gray during saponification. If this happens, please wait up to 48 hours for the original green color to return in cold and hot process soaps. The color change will not occur in melt and pour soaps, due to these types of soap having a lower pH.
To use in cold process soap, you may add this color directly to your very thinly traced soap batter and stir with a hand blender. You may also blend with a bit of your soap making oils first, and then add this blend to your soap. Both methods work very well and which one you choose is your preference.
To use this mica in melt and pour soaps, add to a bit of 91% or higher rubbing alcohol first to fully disperse the mica. This will ensure you do not have clumps of color in your MP base.
An absolutely regal shade of green with stunning highlights of opulent gold!! I am SO HAPPY Nurture carries this mica now, as it's identical in color to a mica called "Apple Moss Green" I used to get from another supplier. For me though, orders from this other company can easily take up to 3wks to arrive, so I'm thrilled I can get this exquisite shade of green from Nurture, where my orders are always processed, shipped and received at lightening speed! It's a shade you don't want to wait for, and with fall right around the corner, it's a must-have in my color arsenal! Paired with other rich fall colors, the season comes to life in one's crafty projects! As beautiful in MP as it is in CP, it's just an all-around outstanding color! It really adds refinement & richness to anything you add it to! In CP, I used this color in the bottom portion of the apple soap pictured here, but It blends so well with other greens too! In MP, just a pinch of NS's "Alpine Green" mixed with it created a stunning shade for the leaf embeds I made! Pictures alone really can't do this mica enough justice though, it's definitely a "must-see" color!
So, admittedly I was a little worried this would be a wonky green. However, it's quite pretty and unique. So pleased.
Wow! Such a color!
Beautiful, elegant color! I know it's called Cabin Fever and so it should make me think of woodsy walks and crisp autumn air, and yes, that's there too - but to me, it also evokes a baroque, over the top opulence...thinking old masters paintings, palaces and fairy tales! Have to think carefully and design a soap worthy of such a rich and glorious color! Thank you, Nurture people, for always offering such fabulous, amazing and inspiring products! You challenge me to be a better soaper!
