Add Activated Charcoal to your soap making oils before adding your lye. Disperse thoroughly with a stick blender until it is fully mixed, then add your lye water. This will help achieve the darkest black.

Gel your soap! If you gel your soap if using activated charcoal your soap will turn very dark. Gelling is the secret to getting the blackest black with activated charcoal in cold process soaps.

I used charcoal for the first time in my CP soap. It did not produce the dark black color I thought it would, maybe I did not use enough. It mixed well in my soap batter.

I used charcoal in my CP soap for the first time. I am a new soaper so maybe I did not use enough of the charcoal but I thought it would produce a darker shade of black. I had not trouble mixing the charcoal.
