There are other true red mica sets available, but none are like this. Other sets are a mix of three colors and it's hard to get the perfect shade of red. You need to use 3 tsp. per pound to get a true color, and the cost is over $15.00 (and cross your fingers it works)! With The Perfect Red combo, only two colors are needed, a little bit goes a long way, and you can try this set for a little over $3.00. At that price, why not give this set a try? You will be glad you did!
CP soap: Use 2 teaspoons per pound of oils.
MP soap: Use .5 - 1 tsp per pound of soap base.
The featured picture is equal parts Red Vibrance and Neon Red cold process soap. The use rate was 1 tsp. per pound each of Red Neon pigment and Red Vibrance Mica. This color stayed RED whether gelled or ungelled in our testing.
Use rate for this blend is 2 tsp. per pound of oils. We have found that using more than this results in a more brick red. These colors are very easy to blend together. Mix them in a little oil and then add to your soap.
Using a little less Red Vibrance will result in a bright pink/red. Using a little more will make a darker blood red. Mixing them 1:1 makes a perfect, true red. The great thing about mixing your own red is that you get to control the final color!
Nurture Soap has two other spectacular reds for cold process soap, Really Red! and My Red Obsession. If you don't like mixing your own colors you should definitely check these out!
Our red ships free to 48 states for all orders over $30. Now that's a bright and shiny deal. Almost as bright and shiny as this red!
I had high hopes but it ruined my soap. Now I have lots of colorant that I can't use.
Oddly only one stripe bled.
Candy, your soap is gorgeous! It is strange only one stripe bled. Were the reds mixed separately? I would like to find out what happened! In our testing this red did not bleed, and I would like to troubleshoot with you and find out what may have caused the issue.
Perfect Red Color Set
I love them been wanting to purchase these colors for a while.
