We purchase our organic sustainable palm oil from one of the most reputable sources in the country. This palm is the best! It will need to be melted when you receive it. To melt the palm, take the cap off the container and place it in a warm water bath on the stove until it melts. Then put the cap back on and give it a few swishes. Palm contains stearic, and if not incorporated properly throughout the oil it can be harder to work with or create stearic spots (little white spots) in soap.
Palm is a wonderfully conditioning yet hard oil for soap. It produces a creamy lather and a hard bar. It is also a whiter oil and lends to creating very bright colors in soap when used as a base.
I bought the jug of Palm oil. While yes you have to melt the whole thing, make sure it’s mixed, It’s super easy to do once and place into smaller containers. I had an old bag that is microwaveable and I also split off into batch sized containers. For example if my base recipe calls for 6.4oz of Palm I’d place in a container that held just that. So it is a quick easy plop into the bowl with the other hard oils. I’ve only had to melt the jug twice (once to fill my containers and again to fill the containers again).
I got the 3.9lb and its perfect in my vegan soaps... The bottle wasn't great, but perfect for the microwave!!
Recommend changing from bottle to tub. I melted in a double boiler and transferred to another container. Good product though.
Sat in a hot water bath for a few minutes and it poured just fine. May transfer to a tub tho.
I could not believe the amazing texture this oil gave my soap.
The jug idea isn't the best when trying to get it out, had to cut the jug in half to get Palm Oil out faster.
