I'm perplexed as to how some are unable to smell the cake in this. All noses are completely different though, so absolutely no judgement, just a sympathetic observation, as this smells absolutely, SPOT-ON delicious to my sniffer & almost exactly identical to a dessert I once had! I haven't used this in CP yet, and will update when I do, but OOB, it's positively mouth watering! When I smell this, I get the WHOLE experience in one sniff! Notes of moist lemon cake, vanilla frosting drizzling down the sides, sweet lemons, sprinkled with granulated sugar, and an uplifting hint of freshly grated lemon zest! It's rich, but not TOO rich, sweet, but not TOO sweet, and tart, but not TOO tart- all blended together to make the most delectable representation of the finest baked-lemony treat! For our anniversary one year, my husband took me to a restaurant that on any other occasion, we wouldn't have been able to justify spending that kind of money. For dessert, I ordered a "petite" (as they called it LOL!) lemon bundt cake that was to die for! Its ruined lemon cake for me forever because I've not been able to find anything like it since! It was the most INCREDIBLE dessert though! It came with curls of real lemon zest, sticks of white chocolate in the middle (painted with yellow stripes- barber shoppe style) and fresh mint leaves to garnish. This fragrance is the closest in scent to how that bundt cake tasted that I've smelled! I can't wait to get this FO in CP & smell it in application, but strictly as an OOB impression, I can't recommend it enough! I mostly work with FO's that don't discolor, but some scents I make an exception for... This is definitely one of those exceptions!
Lovely lemon smell but not poundcake
This scent smells to me of seven up or of a sparkling lemon, rather than a poundcake. It's still a lovely scent but I think you'd want to mix it with sugar cookie or another vanilla if you're looking for a bakery smell.
Lemon Poundcake Review
OMG, this smells just like the real thing!! This is a new favorite of my self and my customers and its hard to keep it in stock! I really love this scent because of the balance of lemon and pastry! Definitely one I plan to keep in stock for a long time! Thank you!
Awesome, and not too sweet!
I have a few other FOs from other suppliers for lemon pound cake, (it's one of my favourite FOs and an excellent seller). As soon as I saw that Nurture released one, I had to have it. It's simply lovely, but don't expect extreme sweetness, as it's not. It also isn't tart, but a nice place in-between. I haven't had a chance to make anything with it yet, due to wrapping up Christmas products, but it's slotted in for my next soap. You won't be disappointed!
This is an AWESOME F.O. !!
This fragrance oil hs all the notes of a piece of pound cake, the sugar, the lemon, the butter...my CP soap smelled positively edible, and it behaved very well, no acceleration or discoloring as of yet ( my soap has been curing for about a week). Will definitely buy this again in the larger size!!
