Description

New Lotion-Safe Formula: Tested 3/30/2020 with the Nurture Soap Making Blend in a 33% lye solution with 5% superfat at 76 degrees. Soaped wonderfully. No acceleration or discoloration. I'm really surprised at how good this smells in soap. It's nice to test sometimes and be reminded of how great a scent is, and that was definitely the case here!

Old Formula: Tested 6/28/18 in a recipe of 33% lye solution with 5% superfat at 75 degrees. Recipe is 35% olive, 35% organic and sustainable palm, 20% coconut, and 10% castor. No acceleration. Soaped perfectly.

  • Acceleration in Cold Process: No
  • Discoloration in Cold Process: Medium tan

Confused. I bought a large bottle of Empress. I soap almost every day under the same conditions and temperature. I use one recipe only, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor oil, Coconut Milk, Kaolin Clay and Sodium Lactate. The first time I used Empress it seized on me. I was doing a design where I need good lines between colors so I stirred it and scooped into the 12lb Nurture mold. I used it again, I gave it a second chance. All the same conditions. I always have good results from Nurture's FOs. They all behave so well. But Empress riced on me. I stirred and stick blender but I still had ricing. Parts of it were usable after stick blending and hand stirring but there was a good amount of batter that was still riced. I won't buy this again. I have a lot left that I will use in either MP or Liquid soap.

Diva!

Empress was a Diva! She did accelerate a bit but that was OK because the soap I was making needed strong lines.

Happy Customer

A customer asked me if I could find a scent similar to her favorite scent, Sultana from Lush. I started searching and was ecstatic when I discovered that Nurture carries the dupe. My customer was very satisfied with her cold process soap order and said the scent was very close to Lush’s Sultana.

Yum!!

This is one of my personal favorites! Its very much like the lush version which is what drew me to it originally. Now that I tried it, I cant get enough! Behaves well!

Eh, Unidentifiable!

So this has apricot, current and bergamot. Seems like these fight with eachother. First notes you get the apricot and current but then the bergamot hits the end note with GREEEEN and BITTER citrus. A bit of a trick and punch in the nose. I can't find a use for this in soap right now, bought this going into fall and it's only November right now. I might mix it with something for spring, but for me on its own, bleh.
