How to Bloom Dyes for Bath Bombs

INCI: FD&C Blue No. 1 Dye

Cosmetic use:
• Eyes
• Lips
• Bath Bombs
• External Use

Prop 65: This product is not on the CA Prop 65 list of toxic chemicals.

The powder in the jar may look different than you expect! Dyes need to be added to water to turn into their true color.

Dyes are very concentrated! A little goes a very long way. Dye can stain hands, counter tops, or anything it touches. Wear gloves and protect all work surfaces.

Cold Process Soap: Dyes are not recommended for CP soap. They tend to morph, migrate into other colors, and bleed.

Liquid & MP Soaps: They are absolutely wonderful for use in melt & pour and liquid soaps. Dilute the dye with a bit of water then add to your soap.

Bath Bombs: Dyes are best when bloomed before adding to your bath bomb recipe. Blooming means to dissolve a bit of dye in water first, then add to the baking soda that goes in your bath bomb mix.

Perfect for blooming!!

Love this color, add to baking soda with hot water to “bloom” baking soda. Once dry, you can use the mix as normal baking soda and it provides a super vibrant color in the water.

Blue 1 dye

This dye is spot on! Ones it's wet, it turns to a nice dark blue. And depending how much yellow I add, I can archive a very nice green. Mostly using this for embeds 😊

Very potent blue 💙

My favorite blue
