Blackberry MicaI don't normally purchase micas that may morph in cold process soap but the color of this was too beautiful to pass up. I have used this in melt and pour soaps and paired it with Nurture's Blackberry Ambrosia FO. The color is beautiful! - Cherie
Blackberry mica is a sultry dark purple that has flashes of reddish-gold throughout. This color is multifaceted and strikingly beautiful.
As with most dark purples, this color can be a bit tricky in cold process soaps. At times you may get a rich amethyst color, and other times it may turn smoky gray. We suggest testing this in your recipe in making CP soap to see how it works for you. This color is stunning in melt and pour soap!
This mica is such a great shade of purple. It can be hard to work with, like other reviewers said, it can be gray if too little is used and totally black if too much is used. But when the soap is put through jell phase, you can really bring out the beauty in it. It is very dark but still a gorgeous purple. I used this mica in my Valentine's soap using Nurture Soap's Black Raspberry Vanilla fragrance. It came out great!
Grey. No purple
No matter what I did or tried this color came out as a sickly grey in my soap. Not impressed at all, and I've tried several times
Harry, this is very common with this mica as noted in the description. We test all our colors thoroughly so you may avoid any surprises. :) 'As with most dark purples, this color can be a bit tricky in cold process soaps. Perfect for dark eggplant like purple
More of gray/black than purple
I've used this mica in differing amounts and it always turns out a varying shade of muted black with just a hint of shimmering purple. I really do like it but it wan't what I was expecting.
Makes Cute Blackberry Embeds
I used this in a clear melt and pour base to make blackberry embeds for my cold process soap cupcakes. The color is rich and beautiful in the melt and pour. I have not yet tried in in cold process soaps due to the other reviews / warnings about the color not holding.
