INCI: Mica, titanium dioxide, manganese violet
    Micron Size: 10-60

    Cosmetic use:
    • Eyes

    • External Use

    Ideal for:
    • Soap
    • Resin

Prop 65: Titanium dioxide (airborne, unbound particles of respirable size) is on the Proposition 65 list because it can cause cancer. Exposure to titanium dioxide may increase the risk of cancer. Once incorporated into a liquid or solid base it is no longer airborne and falls off the Prop 65 list.

    Soap Use Notes

    • Use rate in cold & hot process soaps: 1-2 teaspoons per pound of oils.
    • Use rate in melt & pour soaps: .5 teaspoons per pound of oils.

~ More or less can be added to achieve your desired color. These usage rates are recommended for no colored lather. ~

As with most dark purples, this color can be a bit tricky in cold process soaps. At times you may get a rich amethyst color, and other times it may turn smoky gray. We suggest testing this in your recipe in making CP soap to see how it works for you. This color is stunning in melt and pour soap!

If using in bath bombs, add polysorbate 80 at half your oils. For example, if your oil = 3 teaspoons, use polysorbate at 1.5 teaspoons. This will help prevent a color ring around the tub.

    Turned gray in CP soap

I am disappointed because this mica turned gray in my CP batter and soap.

We do put a warning about this on the product page so that people are aware of this prior to purchase! You'll see under soap use notes it says: 'As with most dark purples, this color can be a bit tricky in cold process soaps. At times you may get a rich amethyst color, and other times it may turn smoky gray. We suggest testing this in your recipe in making CP soap to see how it works for you'.

    Dark and beautiful

I pair this with the Blackberry Bliss for my husband's favorite soap. Says it reminds him of a sweet wine.

    I love this deep purple/black

Gives the right touch of purple to a grey/black, I use it in my Black Raspberry Vanilla soap.
