Descripción

  • Use rate in cold & hot process soaps: 3 teaspoons per pound of oils.
  • Use rate in melt & pour soaps: .5 teaspoons per pound of oils.

This can be used as an alternative to Titanium Dioxide. The samples shown in our pictures are typical use rates of 1 tsp. per pound which is not enough to significantly whiten soap.

To use as an alternative to titanium dioxide, Winter White mica should be used at 3 tsp. per pound of oils. This will result in a much brighter white and there is no speckling as titanium dioxide can sometimes do.

If using in bath bombs, add polysorbate 80 at half your oils. For example, if your oil = 3 teaspoons, use polysorbate at 1.5 teaspoons. This will help prevent a color ring around the tub.

Sticking with TD

I brought this to substitute for TD. TD is difficult to dissolve in oil and every time I dissolve it in water I get glycerin rivers so I decided to give this mica shot. It did not get my soap white like TD but I have use for it like using it to mute my neon pigments. It’s perfect for that!!!

Nice white

Makes whites whiter. Used in a red white and blue soap and winter white made the other colors pop. Will definitely use this in place of titanium dioxide (TD). Worth trying as an alternative to TD.

A great white

Works very well in my soaps. Much easier to disperse compared to TD.

Nice alternative

I still have yet to figure out the magic of TD and this has at least gotten rid of the chunks of TD but still experimenting on how to make it brighter. This is at least a good alternative
