  • Use rate in cold & hot process soaps: 1-2 teaspoons per pound of oils.
  • Use rate in melt & pour soaps: .5 teaspoons per pound of base.

~ More or less can be added to achieve your desired color. These usage rates are recommended for no colored lather. ~

If using in bath bombs, add polysorbate 80 at half your oils. For example, if your oil = 3 teaspoons, use polysorbate at 1.5 teaspoons. This will help prevent a color ring around the tub.

the best

the best black mica I’ve ever bought. I’ve bought from other brands that claim to be black, but in reality it was just a dark grey. This is super dark!

Definitely a nice toned down black. I had to use a tad of activated charcoal to get it just right but this definitely gave a great starting point to work with.

If your looking for a good black color this is the one to have!! Love it...

Nice but a little light.

I mixed this with 2 parts activated charcoal and it turned out very black. The only thing is that I believe that if I didn’t use the charcoal, it would’ve turned out grey ish.

I prefer Black Pearl.

I bought this to achieve a true black in my soap without activated charcoal. This works, but I found that sometimes it reacts with fragrances and disappears/fades. Instead of a deep forest green, I ended up with a bright emerald green when I blended this with Green Vibrance. Since then I've been afraid to use it in designs. I was previously using Black Pearl as my black colorant and I think I'll stick to using just that one.
