New Lower Price Formula: Tested 3/30/2020 with the Nurture Soap Making Blend in a 33% lye solution with 5% superfat at 76 degrees. Soaped wonderfully. No acceleration or discoloration. I watched for acceleration or ricing due to being a floral scent but it didn't happen! It soaped perfectly using this recipe.

Old Formula: Tested 6/28/18 in a recipe of 33% lye solution with 5% superfat at 75 degrees. Recipe is 35% olive, 35% organic and sustainable palm, 20% coconut, and 10% castor. Very slight acceleration to the point of almost having none. I was really surprised with it being a heavy floral. Really easy to work with.

  • Acceleration in Cold Process: No
  • Discoloration in Cold Process: No

Don’t let the name turn you off.

Why the scary name? I know that the name is similar to Death and decay but the scent is amazing. Floral with so many levels. Not old lady at all. Just nice.

Gorgeous scent!

This scent is so dreamy! - soaps beautifully - had plenty of time to do a 8 color drop swirl. - No acceleration - just a straight up dream to work with.

Pungent, complex scent

I just love this one. I've used it in M&P, bath bombs, and candles and it has worked awesome with great staying power/scent throw. It really does have that distinct indolic note that you can kind of feel in your nose. My customers love it in my soap so far. Just bought a bigger bottle :) (it didn't turn my soap black, that's activated charcoal)

Smells like the color green

I made some cold process with mine, it riced a tiny bit but not too much, i just stick blended it out real fast. The scent is amazing though, exactly what i was looking for. To me its a very androgynous scent with floral and fresh notes to it. Lovely performance and it seems to be staying really well in the cut bars. Right out of the bottle it smells really strong but the midnotes and base notes come through after a day or two :)

Not what I had expected

When I read the name Grim Reaper, I thought biker, or something masculine...I didn't realize it meant retirement home. It smells like an old lady's bathroom.

The title is a bit of a contradiction I will say but this is a dupe of Lush's 'Death and Decay' so we had to keep the name in the same ball park! ;)
We do describe the scent as 'floral, pungent, and strong' though (which is what may be reminding you of an old lady's bathroom!)
