• Use rate in cold & hot process soaps: 1-2 teaspoons per pound of oils.
• Use rate in melt & pour soaps: .5 teaspoons per pound of oils.

~ More or less can be added to achieve your desired color. These usage rates are recommended for no colored lather. ~

Black Pearl is our preferred black mica for clear melt and pour. Due to it's silver sheen, it can make MP really pop! For a darker, truer black in cold process soaps try Activated Charcoal or Nocturnal Mica. Activated charcoal makes a truer black than any mica we have tried, and is out go-to for achieving true black in cold process soap that does not bleed or migrate.

If using in bath bombs, add polysorbate 80 at half your oils. For example, if your oil = 3 teaspoons, use polysorbate at 1.5 teaspoons. This will help prevent a color ring around the tub.

I purchased Black Pearl and Neutral Grey Mica. Both were what I was hoping for in the end result. I would definitely purchase again. I have only bee making soap for about 6 months. I tried four different batches. One was a four row swirl, a three row swirl, an in-the-pot, and a drop. Not very visually pleasing but I am happy with the results.

Decent black.

This one is not as dark as nocturnal but is a lovely black, mixed with a tiny bit of black oxide is a very black soap. The one in the picture is CPOP soap.
