    Soap Use Notes

    • Use rate in cold & hot process soaps: .5-1 teaspoons per pound of oils.
    • Use rate in melt & pour soaps: .25-.5 teaspoons per pound of oils.

~ More or less can be added to achieve your desired color. These usage rates are recommended for no colored lather. ~

Less is more when using black iron oxide! It's a very strong pigment. It will not migrate into other colors but will bleed if too much is used. Bleed will cause stained washcloths or cause the color to run down the side of the shower!

The greatest benefit of black iron oxide is that it will create a very deep black in soaps and will not migrate into other colors. It can be added to activated charcoal or black mica to create truly black soaps (no gray!)

    Perfect Black!

If you want black CP soap, this will do it! I find I don't have to use a whole lot, but I do have to disperse it in light oil with a mini mixer or it gets lumps that show in my soaps. I stock this one up, because I use it to darken other colours as well.

It’s dark but if you add it to white it’s gray

Black goes to gray in a white base

Good true black - do not need a bunch

I used this to make a light grey with the 8th and Ocean FO to make a sea foam design that was awesome. Love the Sirens Song Mica to go with it.

    Great black colorant!

Great true black! Not grey like activated charcoal can be in soaps. Will be buying again when I run out!
