Description

The powder in the jar may look different than you expect! Dyes need to be added to water to turn into their true color.

Dyes are very concentrated! A little goes a very long way. Dye can stain hands, counter tops, or anything it touches. Wear gloves and protect all work surfaces.

Cold Process Soap: Dyes are not recommended for CP soap. They tend to morph, migrate into other colors, and bleed.

Liquid & MP Soaps: They are absolutely wonderful for use in melt & pour and liquid soaps. Dilute the dye with a bit of water then add to your soap.

Bath Bombs: Dyes are best when bloomed before adding to your bath bomb recipe. Blooming means to dissolve a bit of dye in water first, then add to the baking soda that goes in your bath bomb mix.

Lori at The Nova Studio offers an excellent tutorial on how to do this. You can access the tutorial here or watch the video below.

One of my favorite

Even though this is considered a red dye it makes more of a pink. I used this dye up the fastest when I got my sample set and couldn’t wait till my new order got to me

This is my second time buying this as I've used it A LOT in my rose bath bombs. It gives such a wonderful pink look to anything you're trying to create.

Great for Bath Bombs & Bubble Bars

I'm just starting out and didn't want to splurge on a ton of dyes, so I decided to get blue, yellow, and red dyes that I could combine to make many different colors. I initially got red 40 as my red, but while red 40 can be mixed with yellow to make orange, it turns out that red 40 doesn't mix well with blue to get a purple (it makes grey because red 40 has more of an orange tone). This is the dye to get as your "red" if you're just starting out and want to mix your own colors. It's nice on its own and also mixes with blue 1 and yellow 5 to create pretty purples and oranges.
