    Soap Use Notes

    • Use rate in cold & hot process soaps: 1-2 teaspoons per pound of oils.
    • Use rate in melt & pour soaps: .5 teaspoons per pound of oils.

~ More or less can be added to achieve your desired color. These usage rates are recommended for no colored lather. ~

Brick Dust is one of the stars of the show in our True Red Trio. Adding this great mica to Queen of Hearts Mica and our Orange-Red Neon makes a stunning and beautiful true red in soaps!

Since this is a darker red, it can be used at 1 tsp. per pound of oils in cold process soap with great results! As a general rule, darker colors are great at 1 tsp. per pound and lighter colors can be used at 2 tsp. per pound of oils for the most vibrant results.

If using in bath bombs, add polysorbate 80 at half your oils. For example, if your oil = 3 teaspoons, use polysorbate at 1.5 teaspoons. This will help prevent a color ring around the tub.

Love using it with shades of brown

The color of Brick Dust works great for me when doing swirls of browns and golds in soap. It adds a pop of color while staying true to the "color family".

    Rusty Red

This turned out perfectly for my nature-inspired arch soap. It is the darkest red in the pic.
Order from the top down: brick dust, blue vibrance, Sahara gold, coral reef, mocha brown, sky blue, and repeat.
